Rub A Dub Dub...

Emme Claire in the tub!

She doesn't like sponge baths very much but she loves bathing in her little tub. She is still kind of small for it, she slips down in it a lot so we have to hold on to her. We can tell from the look on her face that she enjoys sitting in the warm water. And she likes having her hair washed too.

Bright Eyes at Bedtime

Emme Claire is wide awake almost every night around 8 or 9 pm. Last night I took some pics of her while she was so bright eyed. Here are just a few.

One Month Old!!!

I can't hardly believe that Emme Claire is now a month old. The time truly has flown by. Even in these few weeks she has changed so much. Her personality is becoming more evident with each day. She makes the funniest faces when I sit and talk to her. The joy she brings into my life is immeasurable.

I decided to take a few pictures of her since today is a special day. Being one month old is a big deal ya know! :) Plus I couldn't resist putting her in this sweet little newborn size dress and hat that Marlene Gibson gave her. She looked adorable in it, like a little angel baby.

My smiling girl!

I was holding Emme Claire on Saturday while she was semi-asleep and when she is like that you can usually catch her smiling. So Brian grabbed the camera and caught these sweet shots of her little grin. :)

Emme Claire's hair is growing so fast! It sticks up higher on top and is longer on her neck than it was. I think it might be a little bit lighter too. When I was little my hair grew fast and it lightened up as I got older too.

Her Thrush seems to be gone. We go back to the pediatrician on Thursday so that she can check her out and make sure she is doing good. I'm anxious to see what she weighs on this visit. I'm wishing I had gotten one of those baby scales for my house. But oh well, where would I put it?

Emme Update

So we had to take Emme Claire to the pediatrician Wednesday because we realized she had Thrush and we needed to get her a prescription for it. While at the appointment they weighed her and she was 7lbs 3oz. So she gained 3oz in a week. She is a growing girl!

Poor thing has been to the doctor once a week since she has been born. She was 3 weeks old yesterday (Thursday the 14th). And she has to go back to the doctor for the fourth time this Thursday so the doc can check to make sure the Thrush is gone. That medicine works wonders. We could tell a huge improvement just over night. And now she has been on the medicine for two days and her mouth has almost completely cleared up. We hope she doesn't get this stuff again because it must make her feel bad. She had a rough night (as did we) Tuesday night. No one got much sleep that night.

Emme had pictures taken again this week. They are going to be so cute. I can not wait to see them. I think this photographer will be putting her pics online as well and if so I'll post the link on here so you can all go see them. Between these two talented photographers I think we are going to have a hard time deciding what photos to buy. I'm sure we are going to have a house full of framed pics of Little Miss Emme Claire. I can't wait until she gets bigger and we can have a photographer come to the house and take pics of her in the nursery. That will be so cute!

Little E (that's what Brian likes to call her) has been smiling a lot more often now. Mostly when she is sleeping. It is really adorable. It's makes me think she is having a sweet dream about something.

We took Little E over to visit with her Aunt Dean tonight for a little while. I wish we would have remembered the camera because I could have gotten some really good pics of them together. E was awake most of the time and just enjoyed having Aunt Dean rock her. We had a good visit.

I took this picture of her this morning. She was taking a nap while swinging. She looked so sweet and peaceful.

My Mother's Day Surprise!

Yesterday was pretty crazy around here so I'm just now getting to post on the blog. My surprise came yesterday and it was an awesome surprise!!! Brian ordered me two dozen assorted cookies, 2 brownies and 2 raspberry bars from Milk & Cookies Bakery in New York City. When we were in NYC this past Thanksgiving for our babymoon we went in there and thought the cookies were excellent. I was very surprised that he thought to order these for me. He can be very thoughtful when he wants to. :) Now if he can just figure out how to order us a hot from the oven pepperoni pizza from Lombardi's or John's Pizzeria in NYC!

Newborn Pics by Mary Dawson Photography

Want to see something really tiny and sweet?
Go to www.mdawsonphoto.com and click on proofing.
Then click on Emme Claire and Emme 2.
We had her newborn pics made twice so there are two sets of them online.

My 1st Mother's Day

I had an excellent first Mother's Day. Brian got me a really cute card that was from Emme Claire, Brody, Bella and Asher. And he got me a really cute picture frame from The Children's Shoppe that is for the nursery and matches the one a friend had gotten Emme Claire. I love this frame, it's so cute! We had my parents and Jay over for lunch and Brian cooked all the food. He also made a Fresh Apple Pound Cake and baked me some cookies. Oh and he said he ordered me something else for Mother's Day but that it wouldn't arrive until Wednesday so I don't know what that is going to be, I'm ready to find out!! And to top the day off Emme Claire and I got a really wonderful nap together that afternoon. :) Ahhh, it was a perfect day.

Here is how I love to spend my time!

This is Emme Claire's favorite way to sleep with her mommy and her daddy too.

Oh and here is the frame Brian got me.

Emme Claire and her Poppa

On Mother's Day my parents and brother came over to visit and have lunch with us. We fried fish that my Uncle Ronnie gave us and they were so good!

I got some good pics of my dad holding EC. She was wide awake and she was just a "talking" to him. It was cute!

Catching up...

Here are some more pics from this past week. Sorry, I've gotten behind on my blogging.

Amy came by to visit with Emme Claire on Wednesday May 6th.

These pics were taken May 7th.

I got a pic of her using her arms to lift her head and shoulders up. She is so strong!

This is where she sleeps at night right now. I'm not sure when we will make the transition to the crib.

My little dumplin' is TWO WEEKS OLD!

I just realized that I haven't posted any pics of Emme Claire since Monday. This has been an exhausting week. She had newborn pics taken on Monday and then we had a pediatrician appt this morning for her two week wellness check up. She gained weight and has finally surpassed her birth weight! Yay! She is now 7 lbs. And she grew 3/4" in two weeks. She is now 20 1/2" long! Doc said she is doing great! Emme Claire has been up at night a lot, she enjoys her daytime naps a little too much. She needs one of those onesies that says Party at my crib 2:00 am! I don't have a lot of time for the internet anymore because E is good at keeping me busy. My only way of communicating with friends is with my Blackberry, thank goodness for it. I rarely get on my lap top. I haven't checked my email in so long that I'm scared to see how many emails are in my inbox. And I usually don't have the time or energy to talk on the phone. I have been working on this blog post off and on all day long when I get a free moment here and there. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a nice long nap with the baby. I might just have to MAKE myself take a nap with her. I'm tired of being tired. :) It's not like I'm scrubbing the house down every day I'm just wrapped up in Emme Claire! I love to look at her and cuddle her and rock her and love on her. That's what I'm usually doing besides feeding and changing her. I also wash dishes and clothes a lot too though. She is definitely a lot of work but she is completely worth every bit of it! I am head over heals in love with her!

Brian took these pics of her Tuesday night. She is always wide awake around bedtime. I'm so glad Brian got the new Canon Rebel before she was born, actually we got it before our trip to NYC back at Thanksgiving but we got it with her in mind. I think this camera takes really good shots and it takes them very quickly so that we don't miss those cute faces she makes like you would with most digital cameras. I don't think we could ever have too many pictures of our baby girl.
