When I saw that The Grinch Musical was going to be in Houston this December I knew we had to take Emme Claire to see it! Brian and I had seen it in New York City a few Christmas's ago and we both loved it! So we got the best tickets they had left! Orchestra row 4 aisle seats! Our view was perfect!! The show was about 80 minutes long and so we were very worried she would not want to sit still that long and pay attention but we were very pleasantly surprised! She sat through the whole thing in amazement and wonder! She LOVED it!!! I've never seen her clap as hard as she did at the end of each song performance. And she would point and make faces and she says the Grinch says "Grrr!" haha! She thinks he is mean and doesn't remember that he turned nice at the end. I bought her the stuffed animals Grinch and Max. She loves Max (the dog) but she doesn't want much to do with The Grinch. Max is her new sleeping buddy.
They didn't allow pics in the theater so I only snapped 2 with my cell phone. I took some pics outside after the show. The theater was in downtown Houston in the theater district at the Hobby Center.
Here she is waiting for the show to start holding her Playbill.
Here is how the stage looked while the curtain was down before the show began.
Here she is after the show outside the Hobby Center.
Emme Claire and Daddy after the show
My favorite part of the Grinch story is when the Grinch hears the Who's down in Whoville singing with hands joined and he says...
It came without ribbons. It came without tags.
It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store?
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?
