Orange Beach, AL May 2011

This was Emme Claire's 3rd year to go on a beach vacation. Well, technically the first year we went she was about 2 1/2 months old so we didn't actually stay on the beach because she was too young to be out in the sun and all (we did take her to the beach briefly in order to get some pics of her there). So we went to Gulf Shores and stayed at The Wharf which was a lot of fun BUT we went at the end of June and it was HOT! So last year we decided to go on our beach vacation in early June and we went to the Isle of Palms, SC thinking it would not be hot. Well, they had a heat wave the week we went and it was about 90 degrees there when usually it would have been about 75. Ugh! Our dumb luck! So this year for our beach vacation we decided to move it up to early May to be sure it would not be hot! And we went at the perfect time!!! The weather was beautiful! And since it was early May school was not out yet and therefore the beach was not crowded and our resort was not crowded, it was so nice! I hate crowds almost as much as I hate hot weather! It's going to really stink when EC starts real school and can't go on vacations whenever we want.

We had a fantastic time on this trip! We ate lots of good seafood and did lots of fun stuff!

Spring and Summer Fun!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. Life has been busy. Seems like the older she gets the busier I get.
Emme Claire is about 14 1/2 months old now. She started walking about 2 weeks after her 1st birthday and she didn't cut her first tooth until after she turned one also. She now has 4 teeth (2 on bottom and 2 on top) and I can see where 2 more are trying to come in on the top.
She is growing like a weed and learning new things everyday. She is so smart! She learns things very quickly. Sometimes (most times) she surprises me with how smart she is. I'm a proud Momma!
She has her Daddy and myself wrapped around her little finger and she knows it!

I'm going to post a few pics from the last couple of months. In June we went on vacation. My mom and brother went with us. We went to Atlanta, GA for one night then drove on to the Isle of Palms, SC for five nights then we drove to Asheville, NC for one night and then we spent a day in Gatlinburg, TN and the last night we stayed in Birmingham, AL before heading back home. We had a good time and I wasn't ready to come home. We went to the Georgia Aquarium when we were in Atlanta and Emme Claire loved it! We stayed in a beach front villa in the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms. The ocean was beautiful and Emme Claire loved the water and the sand! She also loved the pools at our villa. She played in the kiddie pool (shallow about 1 1/2 ft deep) and she also played in the big pool. She never wanted to get out of the water. We also got to see the city of Charleston while in SC. Then we went to Asheville to the Biltmore Estate. We had already been there in November when EC was 7 months old but my mom and brother had never been and since we were so close we thought it would be a good time to go again. When we left Asheville we drove through the Smokey Mountains to Gatlinburg and spent a few hours there before heading to Birmingham for our last night.
